This site is dedicated to the memory of Patrick Doyne.
Dad was diagnosed with Lung Cancer [Adrenocarcinoma] on 7 th August 2007 and just 8 weeks later he was taken from us on 29th September. We miss dad so very much and not a day goes by when we don’t think of him. Life without Dad is not an easy task but life does go on and so must we, Dad would want us to enjoy life just as he did. Dad had a great love of life, enjoying every moment be it drinking in The Fox with friends or just singing and dancing around the kitchen to his favourite Sunday radio show. Dad was such a lovely man with a great presence about him, something that we will miss for years to come. We decided to set up this page in Dad’s memory not only so his memory will live on but also to raise money for a great cause that will help find a cure for this horrible disease that has broken our family.
This is a Tribute poem from us to Dad, it’s called Goodnight, God bless:
Patsy our dad came from an Irish Town, with Eileen on his arm they were Tadley bound.
36 years of marriage and watching their daughters grow, in The Fox he would celebrate don’t you know.
Being a man in his Merc, steel fixing was his day, making people smile throughout was his way.
With a wind up and a scratch of the head, it would be few pints and off to bed.
A Goodnight and God bless was always said.
On Sunday up at the crack of dawn, church, the market, Jack, fried breakfast and mow the lawn.
Up the Fox a happy man people would say 50 years of good health made him that way, a loving husband, dad and granddad all the way.
Patsy our dad was a proud man, loving, caring and supported West Ham.
To us and his grandchildren he was larger than life and all his love he saved for Eileen, his wife.
We can see our dad in his grandson Jack, he filled all our lives with Joy that’s a fact.
Our lives without dad may have just begun, remembering his ways will always be fun.
Memories of dad will never fade, in our thoughts and heart he will always stay.
Goodnight Dad, God bless.
